The 2 year major framework contract can be extended up to 4 years, based on performance and the needs of the Highways Agency. The contract includes maintenance and improvement works, including resurfacing roads and maintaining bridges. It has a maximum advertised value of up to £400 million over 4 years and is open for use by the local highway authorities, Transport for London, and other public sector clients in the 4 HA regions (Areas 3, 4, 6 and 8). Lafarge/Costain JV was appointed by the HA as one of its 5 contractors to join a new managed works framework that covers the East and South East of England.
